Meet Our Staff

C&L Automotive was established in 1991 by long time Eugene Oregon resident and car enthusiast Steve Clem for the purpose of providing excellent customer service, high quality automotive service and repair as well as provide a fun, professional work environment for his team members. The business is known in the community for it's charity, local school and business event support, educating their customers and community about automobiles as well as providing high quality service to it's customers.

Steve Clem

has spent, just as his family has, his entire working career in the Automotive field, he brings over 29 years of experience ranging from working on vehicles, shop management and owner ship.

Steve has been trained in all areas of the business and continues to seek training and coaching on a regular basis, Steve fully understands he is working on the cars of today and that requires continued education, yet he still loves working on old school cars as well, like his 69 Chevelle.

Steve is married with four children and loves to spend time hanging out with family and friends, be it at home, out on the lake, or his yearly rafting trip, he loves his down time.

Helen Clem

is a lifetime Lane county resident and has spent most of her working career in the Automotive field in several different office capacities.

Helen's main role as co owner of C&L ranges from office manager to customer service and courtesy driver. Helen has two children and enjoy's time with family.

Ryan Scroggin

has lived in the community for 30 years.He graduated from Elmira high school in 1996. After high school he went to Linn-Benton Community College with a baseball scholarship.

Ryan majored in automotive technology. After college he went to work for Gibson Ford as a technician and then transferred careers to service advisor and has loved it. Ryan has been working in the automotive service over 11years. He currently lives in Elmira with his wife and 3 kids. Loves spending time with his family and the outdoors, most of all hunting and fishing.

Steven Pollard

brings over 14 years automotive experience to C & L and is ASE Master certified, as well he has been trained and certified by Chrysler, Dodge, Nissan, AC Delco, Tech Net, ATG Lexus and Toyota. Steve started working on automobiles at 16, a 1980 Chevy Chevette was his first opportunity and he has not stopped since, his favorite car is a candy apple red 1969 Charger, but he has a strong ability to understand and repair the automobiles of today, from front to back, top to bottom.

Steve grew up in Indiana and spent 30 years there "BORED OUT OF HIS MIND" so he moved out west to Oregon for the lush green scenery, nice climate and no sales tax. The huge extra bonus was meeting and marrying his new bride, Dawn. Combined they have a total of six boy's and one girl. Ask Steve what he enjoys to do with his off time he will respond, what off time with seven kids, he dreams about having the time to golf, ski, spend time on the coast, but his real passion is his family.

Mike Bailey

brings over 7 years automotive experience to C & L and is currently working through an automotive apprentice AC Delco Program, as well he has been trained and certified by Ford working in an automobile dealership, he is working toward becoming ASE Master certified.

Mike started working on cars in his dad's garage when he was about six years old, back then it was helping his dad work on a 67 Chevy PU. His favorite car is any air cooled VW, but finds he enjoys the challenge working on today's hi-tech automobiles. Mike grew up in Arizona and moved to Eugene about 3 year ago. He loves the scenery here, especially the greenery and being only an hour from the coast to ride his quad on his free time.

Charles Baird

brings over 39 years automotive experience to C & L and is ASE Master certified, as well Charles has over 400 GM class certifications, is GM, Mazda, Isuzu, Saturn, Suzuki and Hybrid Master certified.

Charles started working on automobiles at the age of 15, a 1955 VW Beetle that belonged to his brother. His favorite car is a 1969 Chevy Nova but as you can see Charles is the guy that can work on the old stuff and is fully trained all the way to today's flex fuel and Hybrids. Charles grew up in Iowa then moved out west to go to college where he earned his degree in automotive technology. He has spent the last 39 years in Lane County working in the automotive field.

Charles has been married to his wife Marjorie for ten years, has three step sons and two grand children. On his off time he loves to ski, do yard work and bicycling.
